It was the second time in five days that Common had been knocked out of a cup competition by that scoreline having also lost 2-1 at home to Mile Oak in the Sussex RUR Charity Cup the previous Tuesday.

Fellow Division Two side Westfield went down 5-1 at home to Division One outfit Chichester City despite taking an early lead through David Pugh. A Joe Gromett hat-trick, and one apiece from Morgan Forrey and Tom Groom turned the match around.
