James Balagizi scored the Reds’ first two league goals of the season as Crawley looked to have earned a well-deserved point before Keiron Bowie’s injury-time winner broke their hearts.
Here are Lloyd Dean’s player ratings from the game.
1. Corey Addai 6
Perhaps should have done better with the free-kick scored by Sam Hoskins. Addai put the defence under pressure with some under hit passes. He did however make quite a few routine saves ( which he would have been expected to make ) and claimed the ball well from crosses. Photo: Lydia Redman
2. Tony Craig 8
The ever reliable Tony Craig made some important tackles and won a lot of his aerial duals. Made some neat passes with his fellow defenders and didn’t really put a foot out of line. Photo: Derek Martin
3. James Tilley 5
After assisting the first goal of the game in the third minute, Tilley had a very poor game. Outmuscled and pushed off the ball when attacking and really struggled to live with Northampton winger Sam Hoskins when defending. Tilley was subbed in the 60th minute. Photo: Cory Pickford
4. Jack Powell 8
Jack Powell had a fantastic game and contributed at both end of the pitch, he helped protect the back four and was also an engine going forward. Powell picked out some very key and accurate passes and was very unfortunate to be on the losing team tonight. Good performance. Photo: Cory Pickford
