Football: Big season ahead for Rogate08

Rogate08 Football Club are anticipating a big season in 2012-13 and are looking for new recruits to bolster the squad.

They’re a village club based four miles east of Petersfield with a long and successful history. Since reforming in 2008, the present side have won promotion in each of the past three seasons.

This success has been built on being a well-run and friendly community club.

The upcoming season will see Rogate08 FC field two teams for the first time. The first team will play on Saturdays in the West Sussex League division two south while the new second team will play on Sunday mornings in the Chichester & West Sussex Sunday League. This means there will be plenty of opportunities for new players.

If you are interested in playing, pre-season training started last night and will run from 7pm to 9pm every Wednesday on Rogate’s home pitch at The Rec, North St, behind the White Horse.

There will be additional training sessions on Monday evenings until friendlies start, leading up to the start of the season in September.

Sessions are run by manager Tony Taylor and coach Mark Summerhill and comprise fitness, ball work and a game followed by beers in the pub.

New players are welcome. For more, contact manager Tony Taylor on 07717 510777.
