Former Pompey boss agrees international role

Harry Redknapp has agreed to manage the Jordan national team after linking up with Derby this week.

The former Pompey boss will take charge of the side for World Cup qualifiers against Bangladesh and Australia later this month.

Redknapp committed to help out as a favour FIFA presidential election loser Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein.

The 69-year-old will still take up his mentoring role at Pride Park today, however.

‘It’s going to be a tough couple of weeks, that’s for sure,’ Redknapp told The Sun.

‘I’ll go to the Forest game (who Derby play Saturday) and then go straight to London and fly to Jordan. It’s a busy time but I’ve missed the buzz of being involved in football.’
