The 19-year-old saved a penalty on his senior bow against Oxford United, and followed that up with some impressive stops in the FA Cup against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Fulton has been well received by fans, but he knows it’s up to him to impress supporters with his performances.

The Scotland under-21 international has made it clear he expects to deliver for those followers over the final 20 games of the season.

And that starts with victory needed to close the gap to the top three at Morecambe tonight.

Fulton said: ‘It’s gone well so far, but it’s up to me to keep my performances at a good level.

‘Everyone has been really supportive so far, but it’s down to me to keep it that way.

‘We have to go to Morecambe now and pick up a result.

‘The league is what it’s all about and we’ve got a lot of important games coming up.

‘I’m glad to be here. It’s what I want to do – play matches and be involved.

‘It’s getting games under my belt. I’m getting the experience of playing in front of a crowd.

‘The level is brilliant and we try to play football here.

‘We’ve shown we want to play football and the level is high.

‘The people who come and watch the team here have had it hard the last few seasons, but that’s a reason to go and get promotion for them.

‘There’s about 20 games to go and we’ve got to pick up points.

‘This is a fight. We’re fighting for promotion, and that is something to don’t get at under-21 level.

‘I’m learning new things every day.

‘We lost against Bournemouth but I think we can get a lot of encouragement from the performance and so can those amazing fans.’

A loan deal has been agreed until the summer for Fulton.

He explained he could be called back to Liverpool at any time, however, as part of the terms of that agreement.

The 6ft 3in man is confident he’ll be staying put for the duration of the campaign, however.

He’s settled into a home in Port Solent and is happy in his new surroundings.

Now Fulton is targeting an extended runs of games between now and the end of the season.

Fulton said: ‘I hope to be here for the season. I’m on a youth loan so I could get called back.

‘But I want to stay here and get as many games under my belt as I can.

‘I’ve moved into Port Solent and it’s lovely down here.

‘To get a promotion would be unbelievable. It’s about the fans and getting them back to where it will be .

‘You can see how good the team is and these lads deserve to be playing at a higher level.’
