Having been successfully established for three seasons, it was clear the section needed its own home and as all the coaches are educated at the college it was a natural progression to move back to the site where it all started.

The open day also aimed to help increase awareness of the playing opportunities for girls aged six to 15 in the area. More than 40 girls turned out to take part in fun football sessions and had a question-and-answer session from the top players who attend the day.

The new link with the college has allowed them to recruit more players as they now have the facilities to take in many more girls to the fast-growing section.

Head coach Emma Alexandre said: “It’s fantastic to see girls’ football growing in Chichester. The success of the women’s World Cup has been so positive for our sport.”

The club will continue to run every Saturday at the College from 10am to 11.30am and new players are always welcome. For more information, contact Matt Wright via [email protected]
