The day started promisingly for Chi as they welcomed back key players Ruben French and Josh Clack. Early on, Jimmy Wild had a right-footed shot that was goal-bound but was deflected out for a corner.

The early pressure continued and City were finally rewarded in the 14th minute as Clack beat three men on the edge of the box and found team-mate Kieran Hartley, who struck a first-time effort into the goal.

In the 24th minute Clack put a dangerous ball into the box, which was inadvertently put into the Hassocks goal by defender Dan Jacques.

Eight minutes before the break the ball fell to Wild following a corner and he struck a sweet right-footed volley into the net.

Chi weren’t done and in the 82nd minute Hartley hit a great long-distance strike which found its way past the keeper and in.

There was one more opportunity for Chi when Graham Bush slotted the ball home to give Chi their sixth.
