Jason Taylor is doubtful with a thigh injury and Nathan Crabb is struggling with a tight hamstring.

Lambert is keen for an immediate response from his side after they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Littlehampton last week.

It’s the first time Town had failed to score this season and leaves them five points behind leaders Horsham with a game in hand.

Town were reduced to 10-men at Littlehampton as they had Dan Bowell sent-off. They finished the game with nine players after Luke Woodley was sent off for a deliberate handball and referee Ian Moore pointed to the spot.

Hand stepped up and dispatched the spot-kick to inflict defeat on Lambert’s men. “We deserved something out the game but unfortunately it just did not go our way,” Lambert said. “Obviously it was tough being down to 10 for a large part of the match but we battled well and for the most part you would not have known we had 10 players.

“Credit to Littlehampton, they did what they had to do and this time they came out on top.

“There will be twists and turns. On another day we would have got something out of it but we put it behind us.”

Lowly Shoreham have not won in five matches and Town will be eager to claim victory ahead of their top of the table clash with Horsham on March 5.

“I am expecting a positive response. When we have had set backs the lads have responded and hopefully that will happen again.

“Nathan (Crabb) and Jason (Taylor) are struggling a bit. It’s a problem because if they play and pull-up, they could then be a doubt for Horsham. We will assess it and won’t take unnecessary risks.”
