Jack Maloney has extended his stay at Poole Town for a second month.

The winger has impressed during his stay with the Southern League premier division side, scoring three goals in five matches.

That includes netting in each of Poole’s FA Trophy qualification games against North Leigh and then Biggleswade Town.

The Dolphins head to Staines on Saturday in the competition’s third-qualifying round.

Maloney, who had been challenged by the Blues to make the most of regular first-team football, has gone on to establish himself in the table-toppers’ team following his arrival last month.

Now he will remain at Poole as they seek to maintain their eye-catching campaign which has left them seven points clear at the top with two matches in hand.

The 19-year-old, who continues to play for Pompey reserves during his Tatnam stay, is out of contract at Fratton Park this summer.

The winger has made 11 appearances for the club he joined as a nine-year-old, although his last game arrived in November 2013 against Southend.

Pompey’s reserve game against AFC Wimbledon was called off yesterday morning.

The fixture had been moved from Furze Lane to Fratton Park in an attempt to get it under way, with Joe Devera and Andy Barcham both set to make their injury returns.

Yet heavy rain overnight continued in the morning, forcing its cancellation before Wimbledon’s scheduled 11am departure.

Pompey were also to feature an unnamed triallist in what was pencilled in as a very strong reserve side.

Alex Wynter, Ben Chorley, Johnny Ertl, Patrick Agyemang, Nick Awford, Maloney, Ben Close and Michael Poke were also set to feature for Alan McLoughlin’s side.

That left Barcham and Devera on the bench and expected to feature in the second half following their recent lay-offs.

It is the Blues’ second successive home reserve match that has been cancelled this season, following on from Cambridge last month.

Meanwhile, Danny Hollands and Adam Webster will be the guests at tomorrow night’s Chichester Pompey Supporters’ Club meeting.

The annual event is taking place at 7.30pm in The Four Chesnuts, Chichester.

Last month saw Craig Westcarr as the guest and new members are welcome.
