Midhurst battle back for a point at Dorking

Although Midhurst collected only a point from their 2-2 draw at Dorking in Sussex League division two, they were satisfied with a draw considering the opposition.

Midhurst gave a debut to new forward Jason Silver.

The home side had Midhurst under pressure and a good passing move enabled Jamie Rieve to put Dorking in the lead.

On 22 minutes, Bobby Hooper found Jerome Beckles and he slotted past Scott Lillywhite for 2-0.

Midhurst were looking relaxed despite being two down.

After the break, the visitors brought on Nathan Castleton and Oliver Pearce. Silver gave Midhurst a lifeline with seven minutes left before Pearce scored the goal of the game as he drove an unstoppable shot beyond keeper Paul Williams.

Midhurst go to East Grinstead in the Brighton Charity Cup this Saturday.
