Mullins joins Birmingham

Hayden Mullins is poised to complete a move to Birmingham City.

Hayden Mullins’ move to Birmingham has been confirmed.

Mullins has sealed his free transfer switch to the Championship side after passing a medical and has signed a two-year deal for the St Andrew’s outfit.

His exit means Pompey will remove one of their biggest earners from their wage bill.

Mullins is believed to have commanded in the region of £20,000-a-week with two years remaining on his agreement.

But it is understood he has take a significant pay cut to aid Pompey and get the move completed.

Mullins is owed money for the remainder of his contract, but it thought to have accepted receiving a portion of that over a staggered period to help the Blues in their battle to survive.

The midfielder made 129 appearances and scored three goals in his time at Fratton Park, after signing from West Ham in 2009.
