Strikes from Scott Murfin, Kieron Pamment and Rob Brown ensured it was a winning return for Golds former boss Mark Bennett in the extra-preliminary round clash.

In a fiery affair, Pagham went ahead after six minutes as Ryan Morey broke clear down the left before teeing up Murfin who fired home.

Morey was involved yet again as Lions doubled their advantage three minutes prior to half time.

The winger found Pamment, whose turn and shot beat Littlehampton goalkeeper Luke Hutchings.

Golds were handed a lifeline 20 minutes after the restart as Ben Gray netted. James Binfield’s clearance deflected off Jack Cole and into Gray’s path as he cooly slotted home.

Cole thought he had levelled things up four minutes later only to see header from a Gray cross rebound back off the bar.

With time running out, Rob Brown made sure of his side’s progress as he headed home from Andy Brown’s crossfield pass on 82 minutes.

Pagham pocket £1,500 prize money following this success and face a trip to Canterbury City in the preliminary round next.
