So far, 4,300 season tickets for the 2013-14 campaign have been snapped up, having gone on sale on May 13.

That is a staggering 40 per cent up on this stage last season as the Blues’ feel-good factor continues following the Pompey Supporters’ Trust takeover.

In addition, of those who have bought tickets, 30 per cent are classed as new customers.

These largely consist of supporters who had previously decided against renewing existing season tickets in recent times.

Last year, a total of 8,050 were purchased by the Fratton faithful for Pompey’s ill-fated League One campaign.

And according to club-released figures, the Blues appear well on track to beat that figure at this early stage.

Pompey engagement manager, Mike Hall, said: ‘We are up to 4,300 season-ticket holders at present, which is a fantastic amount.

‘When you consider it has effectively been two-and-a-half weeks when people have been able to buy them, it really is a superb show of faith from the fans.

‘In addition, supporters have only been able to get them online for the past week.

‘There is a 40-per-cent increase on this stage last season and 30 per cent are new season-ticket holders, which is huge.

‘The first target is to beat the 8,050 from last year and the second is 10,000. To exceed even that would make us absolutely delighted.’

Meanwhile, the new Pompey home kit has attracted more than 1,000 in pre-orders since its launch.

Those who have purchased shirts will be invited to the club’s shop relaunch on June 27/28, when they can collect.
