Rocks leave it late ... Chi City and Pagham win again

In an incident-packed final ten minutes in Suffolk, the Rocks had Chad Field sent off and then went 1-0 down to a Tom Bullard goal at a corner when Bognor's players felt certain there had been a handball by the home side.

Wild was the hero in stoppage time when he headed in a cross from the left after keeper Dan Lincoln had gone up to make a nuisance of himself at a Dan Beck corner.

The point was not enough to keep the Rocks top of the Ryman premier - but it means they are just a point behind Havant, who thrashed Sudbury 6-0. Both sides play games in hand on their promotion rivals this Tuesday, when Bognor make the trip to Burgess Hill.

In the SCFL, Chi City had a Josh Clack goal late in the first half to thank for earning the three points at home to AFC Uckfield. City stay third, five points behind leaders Shoreham.

Pagham made it four wins from five since their recent player exodus, winning 4-0 at Hailsham.

In division one Selsey crashed 5-0 at Bechill but Midhurst won 3-0 at home to AFC Varndeanians, with a late Anthony Kirby double adding to an own goal for the Stags.

In division two Bosham lost 3-2 to title rivals Jarvis Brook while Sidlesham won 1-0 at Montpeilier Villa to keep the race for the silverware a three-way affair.

West Sussex League premier action included runaway leaders Nyetimber Pirates winning 3-2 against Wisborough Green.

In WSFL Championship south, East Dean moved up to second with a 9-1 win away to Sidlesham reserves. They had three hat-trick heroes.

In local rugby, Chichester's must-win home clash with bottom side Amersham and Chiltern in National three London south east was a was-win clash - they romped home 39-15.

Bognor remain bottom of London three south west after losing 25-15 to Old Tiffinians.
