Saints' halos slip as Selsey run riot

Selsey crushed struggling St Francis 5-2 at the Colwell Ground to continue their rise up the Sussex League division-one table.

Doubles for top scorer Rob Wimble and Jake Lafferty added to Joss Parsons’ strike on the half-hour mark.

Aaron Walsh opened the scoring for Rangers but by half-time Adam Hinshelwood’s side were 2-1 up thanks to Parsons and Wimble.

Three goals in four minutes meant Walsh’s second was a consolation for the home side in front of a crowd of 21.

Bognor’s Tim Bond played an hour for Selsey before being forced off injured.

With Selsey now 13th, the top half is well within reach - with Crowborough Athletic just six points away in tenth place.

Selsey have six games in hand over them and three of the next four games are away, where their win percentage this season is now 56 per cent in all competitions.
