Ian Martin’s Blues triumphed 2-1 over Crowborough at the High Street Ground to move up to a respectable 13th in division one.

But Chichester City’s challenge in the top four took a knock when they lost 2-1 at home to Sidley despite an early strike by Michael Turvey.

Pagham are out of the John O’Hara Cup after a 3-2 third-round defeat at Rye.

There was a shock for Bosham in the last eight of the Sussex Intermediate Cup. They lost 4-2 at home to West Sussex League team Cowfold. Second-half goals from Bradley Miles and James Bracher couldn’t save the Walton Lane outfit from a surprise exit.

Barnham won 3-1 at Newhaven in division three.

Games involving Midhurst and Sidlesham were called off.

Two of our local sides are in action on Tuesday evening.

Chichester go to East Grinstead for their weather-delayed Sussex Senior Cup second-round replay, while Pagham host Shoreham in division one.
