MILES STOREY signalled his returned to form and promised: My confidence is back.

The Pompey attacker revealed a showreel highlighting his forward-thinking quality has provided him with an injection of self-belief.

Storey made a goalscoring return to the starting XI against Stevenage on Tuesday night.

The 20-year-old admitted his seven-game first-team absence had been down to a period of doubting himself.

But he is now ready to put that behind him and showcase his obvious quality on the front foot.

Storey said: ‘Maybe a few things weren’t going my way in games and training.

‘I really had to knuckle down, especially in training.

‘A lot of it is down to myself. I’ve been looking at clips from past seasons and seeing I can do it.

‘Even watching them back from the start of the season, I was thinking it looks easy.

‘The Cambridge game I was looking at how I got crosses in and set Tayls’ (Ryan Taylor) goal up.

‘The Peterborough game I scored and played quite well.

‘It’s just reminding yourself you can do things you haven’t had the confidence to do. I can do them.

‘If things don’t go your way you can let it get on top of you.

‘Maybe you just need pulling, starting again and going in with a fresh mindset.

‘Hopefully that works. I feel my confidence is growing.’

Storey returns to Shrewsbury tomorrow, where he spent a period on loan last season.

He added: ‘I went to Shrewsbury for a month. I wanted to show everyone what I can do.

‘I started to build form and felt sharp. That’s what I want to do now.’
