Six-a-side bash planned in Sussex for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Danny Cowtan, Dan Lord and Barnaby Byrne, three close friends who grew up together in Chichester, are recruiting teams for a spring six-a-side football tournament to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The charity is close to their hearts, due to the help and support Danny and his family received when his sister Paige was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2001.

She was just ten when she had to tackle this disease, with months of operations and radiotherapy. She battled through, and although now registered blind, she is leading a full and happy life.

During this difficult time, Make-A-Wish supported the family and organised for Paige to swim with dolphins, something she had always wanted to do. This experience gave Paige the lift and fight she needed to come home and beat the illness.

The boys are happy to be giving back to such a great charity, through both the football tournament and their training for the 2015 Virgin London Marathon.

You can get involved in the tournament and enter a team by emailing [email protected] or search for ‘Chichester 6ixes’ on Facebook for more information.

The tournament is taking place on Sunday, March 22, at the University of Chichester artificial pitch. The entry fee is £80 for an eight-person squad, and all proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Foundation. It’s sure to be a fun and competitive day.
