Snow-hit ground leads to a nice bit of club bonding for City

Chichester City were typical of clubs affected and at Oaklands Park, the frosty conditions had even prevented training on Thursday night with the surface freezing.

It was a fantastic chance for the club to come together for an indoor training session at the new dome at the University of Chichester.

With three indoor futsal pitches, it was an opportunity for the men’s, ladies and under-18 squads to come together and train side by side.

Players and coaches commented on how good it was to see all sides together.

First-team coach Neil Sherlock said: “We will keep building on our atmosphere and the enjoyment of football development from under-sevens all the way through to the men’s and ladies’ senior teams.

“We will make Chichester FC the place where all players of any age or sex want to play.”

The community links have been pushed quickly forward this season, specifically the links to Chichester College, the city’s university and local schools and businesses.

Ladies’ first-team manager Matt Wright said: “The club will continue to play its role in the local community. This season the new board have brought all aspects of the club together from the young girls right up to the senior men’s side. It is great to see the whole community getting involved.”
