Sunday League honours Elmer with trio of awards

Elmer FC's double-winning season was rounded off in style with a further three Awards at the Chichester & West Sussex Sunday League's annual meeting.

The prestigious club secretary of the year title was won by Sam Davis, who has been Elmer’s secretary since the club were formed in 2007. She has yet to incur any fines for poor administration in all that time. This category is decided by a ballot of the league’s officers, who recognised Sam’s value to both the league in general and Elmer.

Matt Hope, already named Elmer’s players’ player of the year, was awarded the league’s player of the season title, an award based on man of the match nominations from the other member clubs.

Elmer’s leading scorer Nathan Sadler also picked up an award for being division three’s top marksman with an impressive 26 goals in just 16 matches.

The trophies were awarded by league patron Bill Saunders, assisted by league chairman Wally Elvin.

Elmer have now begun training in preparation for the coming season with two teams entered into the league. New players are welcome to come along - in particular Elmer are interested in finding a goalkeeper for their new reserve team. For further details contact [email protected]
