There's no end to Chichester City's struggles

CHICHESTER remain bottom of division one after defeats at Peacehaven & Telsocmbe and at home to Shoreham in division one of the Sussex League.

On Saturday Adie Girdler’s men went down 2-1 at Peacehaven in a wind-ruined contest. Keeper Tosh Batey made his debut for Chichester and after a blank and scrappy first half, Peacehaven took charge with goals from Ryan Bradley and Rob O’Toole. City netted through Bradley Grant in the 89th minute.

On Tuesday night Shoreham won at Oaklands Park.

Joe Briggs gave City the lead on 63 minutes before goals from Gareth Green and Rob Allen put Shoreham ahead.

There was late drama when Steve Davies broke away in midfield and casually netted another Mussels goal.

Every other player stood still with the linesman signalling for offside, but he was over-ruled by the referee.

Scott Portas was red-carded for a foul on Davies, but Batey did well to save Lee Eastman’s resulting spot-kick.
