Wilson went off at half-time with a slight groin injury in the 4-0 win against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.

However, the Manchester United loanee, who has netted four times for the Seagulls, has not been ruled out of the trip to the Valley.

Hughton said: “It’s more promising than we thought at the time.

“We knew it was very minor and, with the result, we’re delighted that we took him off at half-time.

“He will be a doubt; however, we’re certainly not ruling him out and he’ll probably still travel.

“At the moment, we don’t have Bobby (Zamora) which means if I’m looking at regularity in the squad, there are three (strikers) we have, James, Tomer (Hemed) and Sam (Baldock).

“As much as possible, we want to keep them fit and available.”

German central defender Uwe Hunemeier, who has been out since December with a groin injury, is set to return to training next week.
