Yates praises skipper Bradley in new role

The Reds captain normally plays in defence but does go forward for corner-kicks.

He said: “I felt he did ever so well up there. Without Matt Harrold and Liam McAlinden, they’ve got two big centre-halves and I thought we needed a physical presence.

“We had a few chances in the second half and I’m really gutted for the boys but it also just sums us up really.

“We have four games to go before the end of the season. You can see why we are where we are.

“Our concentration levels have got to improve, whether people are at this club next year or not. The game is about fine margins and there was so little between the two teams today.

“We probably had the better chances at the start of the second half, we hit the bar in the first half from a set-piece but we’ve ended up losing.

“We have to learn, we have to take stock. Sometimes when things are going for you, like they are for them (AFC Wimbledon) at the moment, you get the goal out of nowhere which wins them the game.

“I thought the gameplan was excellent and the players executed it well. Once we got Shamir (Fenelon) on we started to stretch them and really started having a go, but that’s life!”
