GALLERY: Never mind the Tour de France - here's an uphill task for cyclists

As the 100th Tour de France got under way, there was some full-blooded cycling action closer to home in the shape of Southdown Velo's first youth time trial.

The Chichester club’s event took place up the one-mile Knights Hill climb near Charlton, just north of Goodwood racecourse.

Thirteen riders took to the course - and as you can see from our gallery of pictures by Chris Hatton, they all had a good go at it and enjoyed themselves.
