TICKETS have gone on sale for Goodwood’s 2012 fixtures – and for the first time, there’s discounts for Glorious Goodwood if you book in advance.
Sales began on Monday and a number of the racecourse’s 19 meetings are expected to prove very popular.
The starting gates open for the first time on Saturday, May 5, followed by four more days of racing that month.
That includes the return of the May Festival from Friday 24 to Sunday 26, which will offer more than £300,000 in prize money and feature a number of listed races.
June sees the return of the highly-acclaimed ‘Three Friday Nights’ launched in 2011 when the paddock was transformed as people flocked to the dance floor after racing to listen the sounds of top DJs.
The DJs are due to be announced in January.
Glorious Goodwood, running from July 31 to August 4, will see many highlights in 2012 and commences with an opening ceremony which will be a celebration of the festival’s living legends and the 200th running of the Goodwood Cup.
August also features a three-day bank holiday festival on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26, with the Group 2 Celebration Mile on the Saturday.
The season draws to a close with two days of racing in September and the grand finale on Sunday, October 14.
Goodwood bosses have frozen many package prices for 2012 and there’s only a small increase on ticket prices. New for 2012 are advance booking discounts for Glorious on tickets purchased before May 31 and an online booking discount for remaining dates.
Goodwood anticipate high volumes of tickets sales, saying sellouts are possible for June’s Three Friday Nights and some days of Glorious. Book on 01243 755055 or at www.goodwood.com
