Golds' bad luck continues

LITTLEHAMPTON FC manager Trevor Waller was left to regret his side's bad fortune after their first home match of the season ended in defeat to Sidley.

Golds had enough chances to have won the match but conceded two sloppy goals to leave them still bottom of the table.

Waller said: "We could have got something from the game. We played really well but just aren't getting the rub of the green. I couldn't fault the effort of the guys. They all worked really hard but we just need a break."

Defender Adam Holman started up front and just failed to connect with Bruno Costa's cross in the second minute.

Moments later, Golds thought they had been awarded a penalty when the referee pointed to the spot after Holman went down in the area. However, after consulting with his assistant, the referee gave a free kick on the egde of the penalty area.
