GOLF
PAUL Lyons, formerly of Sweetwood Golf Club but now at the renamed Lindfield, was named coach of the year at the inaugural GYH Destination awards at Wentworth Golf Club.
Lyons began his coaching career at Sweetwoods three years ago, working with a dozen youngsters every season.
Because of the popularity of his course, the college outgrew its home and relocated to the former Paxhill Park club, where 30 junior golfers a year are now given an education with advanced apprenticeships in sporting excellence, which is the equivalent to two A-levels.
