Chichester golf veterans glad to be back where they belong

Chichester Golf Club’s veterans’ section is up and running again and captain Colin Westwood (pictured) has been looking to find the nicely groomed and pristine fairways on the Tower Course.

The green staff had done a great job of keeping the course in great condition during the lockdown and the club owners had kept everyone well up-dated during the worst of the virus outbreak, so when the time came the members at Chichester – like players at golf clubs everywhere – were straining at the leash to get back out there.

And it took no time to find the right formats for the times, and stretching their technology skills a little they have devised competitions which fit the social distancing rules and allows them to play competetive golf.

The whole exercise has shown how adaptable people can be and accommodating when the need arises.

Colin is anxious that his season as captain isn’t hit too seriously and thanks everyone for continuing to support his charity, the Chichester branch of St John Ambulance under these difficult circumstances.
