Hastings assemble their squad

HASTINGS United have begun the process of signing on their squad for their upcoming season in Ryman Division One.

Fifteen players have put pen to paper in anticipation of the new campaign which kicks-off on August 14 with a home match against Fleet Town.

They are Mitchell Sherwood, Stephen Graham, Steve Sands, Charlie Belcher, Chris Honey, Peter Sayer, Peter Mortley, Peter Taylor, Jimmy Elford, Steve Hafner, Ryan Peters, Steve Ringwood, Russell Eldridge, Allan Tutton and David Henham. Joining them is last season's leading scorer Carl Rook, the only player at the club who is on contract.

Hastings kick-off a run of four home friendlies against Worthing on Saturday July 31, kick-off 3pm. Dartford visit on Tuesday, followed by Eastbourne Town two days later and Chatham Town the following Saturday. Both mid-week matches kick-off at 7.45pm.

In their previous friendlies Hastings were beaten 4-0 by Whitstable Town and 2-0 by Hythe Town.

Hastings reserves have added a home friendly against their counterparts from Rye & Iden United on Monday August 9, kick-off 7.45pm.
