Lavant netballers make it a full House in West Sussex tournament

LAVANT HOUSE School's Year 10 netball team travelled to Felpham Community College for the annual West Sussex West netball tournament without key player Imogen Terry, who was ill.

Jessica Breach stepped in at the last minute and the team were confident of success among a record ten teams taking part.

In their first match against Westergate A, Lavant started strongly and won 12-0.

Next, they played Bourne B, who found Lavant House too strong, with the girls 11-1 winners.

Lavant House went on to record a 12-0 win against Felpham Community College and could not be faulted on their defence, mid-court play or shooting.

Against last year’s winners, Bishop Luffa A, Lavant established a two-goal lead and a late Bishop Luffa goal couldn’t stop Lavant House winning 7-6 - taking them into the final. That was against Bourne A, the winners of the other pool.

Lavant House won 13-0 and were winners of the overall tournament.

The team comprised captain Grace Hooper, Megan Adams, Libby Swan, Portia Wilson-Smith, Alice Leaver, Natalya Fagerlund, Georgia Miles, Jessica Breach and Imogen Terry.
