Lewes pair tune up for Davies & Tate semis

LEWES Golf Club pair Lawrie Tremlett and Mark Hilton won the four ball, better ball Varden Trophy at Copthorne on Thursday last week with net scores of 64 and 65.

It was ideal preparation for the semi-finals of the Davies & Tate inter-club knockout competition, which take place tomorrow.

Lewes face Cop-thorne at Crowboro-ugh Beacon while Crowborough take on Worthing in the other semi-final at Copth-orne.

The final will be staged at Little-hampton on Satur-day, September 9.

It is the furthest Crowborough have been in ten years and reflects the improvements at the Beacon. Teenager Tom Dagwell retains his place in the team.

The Plate semi-finals pitch Royal Eastbourne against Highwoods and Brighton & Hove against Ham Manor.
