Bognor ABC held another open boxing show on home turf - at VK’s Gym in the town.

Five of the Bognor squad were in action.

Home boxer Joe Light took on R Squires in his first contest after 14 months out, but lost on points to Squires. Light moved well but was out of reach, with a lot of his shots not scoring.

Bognor’s Rowan Bentley beat T Nabizada on points in a bout that was full-on action from first to last. Both boxers traded shots but Bentley had the more accurate punches and his tight guard kept Nabizada’s shots from scoring. Bentley was a worthy winner.

Jake Stanley (Bognor) took on T McCreesh and gave the crowd three solid rounds of boxing. His ramrod jab and overhand right cross kept catching his opponent and Stanley won a unanimous decision.

Jack Spear (Bognor) was matched with A Adaenas (Chichester), who was very aggressive coming forward and scored a convincing win.

Bognor’s James Baker boxed against S Davis and came up trumps again - this his sixth consecutive win for the club.

Davis came out all-action in the first and Baker covered up well. By the second, Baker went up a gear and closed down Davis, catching him with good body shots. More of the same in the third resulted in a win for Baker.
