Bognor Rugby Club held their annual junior awards day and with 480 people in attendance it was a day of celebration for all the club’s young players.
The event was held at Riverside Caravan Park in Bognor and saw many young players and club volunteers rewarded for their efforts on and off the pitch throughout 2013-14.
Awards handed out on the day for each age group were best newcomer, most consistent player, most improved player and players’ player.
The day ended with the player of the year awards being presented to all age groups, and seeing the very youngest players – some aged just six – next to the oldest and biggest, aged 18, collecting awards was a sight to behold.
Coaches and volunteers surprised the audience with a flash mob dance which raised a lot of laughs and some of the coaches made emotional speeches. Some players took it upon themselves to entertain with songs and poems so there was never a dull moment!
Players and their families enjoyed a great day of music, awards, fun and laughter and had the chance to meet new people.
The day was a real celebration of rugby and Bognor RFC thanked everyone who helped organise the day, and Riverside Caravan Park for allowing them to take over their ballroom.
