A NEW running course for beginners is being launched in Chichester.
Get Active - Get Running, with Run Chichester, is aimed at those keen to start running but who do not know where to start.
Whatever your level of fitness, you should be able to build from nothing to running continuously for 30 minutes in the space of eight weeks.
All you need to do is make a commitment to run at least three times a week and follow a simple run/walk programme which will gradually ease you towards your goal.
Benefits include meeting new people, losing weight, boosting your self-esteem and confidence, getting fit and feeling good about yourself.
The Run Chichester group is part of a Run England initiative to get people running for fitness and fun as part of a healthy lifestyle.
It will run on Tuesday and Thursdays at 6.30pm at the Chichester College sports pavilion, with the first session on Tuesday, February 3.
The group will be supervised by UK Athletics-qualified coaches and leaders. It will cost £40 – payable at the first session – and includes membership of Chichester Runners for the remainder of 2015.
Places are limited so apply as soon as possible to Rob Wiggins at firstname.lastname@example.org – and for details of Chichester Runners and Run England go to www.chichester-runners.org.uk or www.runengland.info
