The popular Trundle Hill 10k was well supported by Bognor’s Tone Zone runners on a warm evening, with 16 members taking part on a very challenging course.

Steve McLoughlin completed it in 39.31, narrowly missing silverware but coming an impressive fourth. Anna Enes ran well and was 11th female.

Simon Bodsworth ran the Petworth Park 10k in 48.44.

This year’s Worthing 10k was held on a Sunday, moved from its traditional midweek spot. All the Tone Zone runners completed the course in under an hour, with Peter Lee finishing in 38.41.

In other races, the Lakeside 5k, the first in a series of five runs, had three Tone Zone runners competing and Tony Hancock put in a time of 22.55.

The Ropley 10k, on an undulating route with a couple of very steep hills, saw Simon Gill again running very well and he came second overall out of a field of more than 200 runners, beaten by only 20 seconds.

On the 25th anniversary of the race and the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the D-Day 10k was run in Portsmouth on the hottest day of the year so far.

Stalwart Roy Webb finished first in category and the rest of the team ran admirably in tough conditions, which saw several retirements among the field.
