New coach at Middleton - and '˜tennis for all' is his mantra

Middleton Sports Club have appointed a new tennis coach.

On January 1, Keith Savage will be joining Middleton having previously worked at Ashford Tennis Club, Surrey, where he has coached since 1997.

He ran the Spelthorne team for eight years and won a number of medals.

Savage started playing tennis aged 14 and played a number of county-standard tournaments.

He still plays competitive tennis in the Surrey and West Sussex League and National Club League. He is a LTA DCA (level three) qualified tennis coach.

Savage will be responsible for all Middleton Sports Clubs tennis requirements, which will include mini tennis, junior courses, adult courses, social events and holiday camps throughout the year.

Middleton are working towards Club Mark Status for tennis and hope to achieve this within the next six to nine months.

Tennis committee member Justine Langridge said: “It’s great to be working with Keith. He brings to Middleton a vast amount of experience and will be a great asset to the tennis section at Middleton Sports Club.

“We are all very excited about 2011.”

The new man’s courses begin in early January and juniors do not have to be members.
