The very first league to be played in Chichester, as far as organisers know, starts this evening (April 7) with pre-season games to assess umpires, who are as vital to any game as the players themselves.

Then the real fun starts next Thursday. They’re playing at the Sports Dome on the Chichester University Bishop Otter Campus, which means they can play indoors or outdoors, according to the weather.

There will be two rounds of matches every Thursday evening until July 14. The first round of games starts at 6.45pm and the second round at 7.45.

So if your club haven’t entered yet - hurry up and apply at www.chinetball.co.uk

All the detail is there and if you have any questions e-mail [email protected]

If you are a lone netballer, with neither a club nor knowledge of the netball world in Chichester, contact the group. They will be running an independent team which players can join until they either join a club or the team establishes itself as one in their own right.

Anyone can contact organisers or just turn up any Thursday from this week and join in.
