Off to a Flyer! Jenny rewarded for giving athletes a boost
Fittleworth Flyers Running Club are pleased to announce that their ‘Learn To Run’ trainer has won an award for “going over and beyond” with her group during this difficult year.
Jenny Castle was runner up in the English Athletics 2020 South East Volunteer Awards section for helping to support her local running community. Jenny from Storrington “provided much needed support during the pandemic and lockdowns” to her trainee runners.
She kept in touch with them via telephone,mail and checking in with messages and giving encouragement. Among the many positive comments, one wrote:” she is the kindest and most supportive person I have ever met.”
Jenny was overwhelmed to receive it saying that it has been a hard year but the group has become closer through keeping in touch through communicating with each other.
