They've had two fixtures so far this summer when they should have had eight - and the five days of the Qatar Goodwood Festival will bring a total of crowd of 5,000 instead of 100,000 - all of those coming in on the final day, Saturday, August 1, as part of a government test of fans returning to elite sport.

For Ed Arkell, clerk of the course, it is a season that has brought many new challenges. He has worked throughout, often with a skeleton crew, to maintain the turf and the site, but is looking forward to Glorious week and all the wonderful racing it will bring.
