Pagham have it all to do as leaders Findon dish out a lesson

Pagham were invited to bat first in their Sussex League division three west match against Findon on a wicket made for runs and although most of the batsman made a start none of them managed to post a match-winning score.

Mike Hales (34) and Dave Fuente (33) were top scorers and put on 61 for the seventh wicket. James Lago was the pick of the Findon bowlers finishing with three for 49 from 17 accurate overs.

Pagham ended on 198 for nine from 53 overs, which appeared 40 or 50 short of a par score.

Findon got off to a blistering start with B Bridson (39) and Jack Metters (79) punishing the Pagham bowlers.

Although two wickets in an over from Dave Galea got Pagham back in the game at 128 for four, F Jordan (43no) and D Bridson (31no) saw Findon home with 12 overs to spare.

The result keeps Findon clear at the top of the league - and leaves Pagham equally clear at the wrong end of the league.
