Racehorse trainer Luke is looking ahead to a bright future

You can take a racehorse to water, but to create a racehorse that will drink of the spoils of the track takes a lot of work and ingenuity. Jeannie Knight talks to Billingshurst trainer Luke Dace.

Whether it is the heady heights of the Epsom Derby or a late afternoon race at Fontwell Park, around 700 racehorse trainers in the country are striving to find a coveted spot in the winner's enclosure with their runners.

Luke Dace (35) is a West Sussex trainer who has experienced everything from the depths of adversity to a rich purple patch of winners that made national headlines. He is now looking to a bright future from his new base near Billingshurst.
