Riding club brings in new classes

WEST Sussex Riding Club had new ideas for classes at its Open Ridden Showing Show.

Held at the club field in Barnham, there were classes for everyone including some new ones such as competition horse, retrained racehorse and best-dressed mother with pony and child accessory on the lead rein, together with the usual showing classes such as working hunters, riding horse and veterans.

The classes were judged by experienced people, some of whom are on affiliated show panels, and attracted large entries.

West Sussex Riding Club is extremely grateful for all the sponsorship it received for this show and in particular to Middleton Garage Group for sponsoring all the class rosettes and ring championships, and to Jean Lloyd's family for sponsoring the Supreme Championship in her memory.

There were also some fantastic prizes from people and businesses, which were presented to the class winners.

Further open shows are planned, including an In Hand Showing Show on September 7. See the club's website at www.westsussex
