B is for brilliant as Chichester rugby boys keep run going

UNDER-15

Chichester travelled to nearest rivals Bognor and maintained their unbeaten league record.

From the kick-off, the marauding Chichester pack pinned Bognor in their own 22. Inness, Stockbridge and Sprackling pounded the Bognor line before releasing the ball out to the backs. Left-wing Rahaman twice went close before Lock finished a fine move wide on the right.

There was no let-up for Bognor as Chichester charged at them again from the restart. Thrusts from Furness, McManus and Reid sucked in the oppostion and fine handling from Johnson, Clink and Stanley put Lock over again.

Chichester maintained a high tempo with Bognor only rarely getting out of their half. More forward pressure saw dynamic prop Eggleton crash over from close range before scrum half Blakely capped a fine first-half performance with a darting run to the line.

With the bonus point secured and 22-0 up at half-time, Chichester made several changes at the break. Local pride was at stake and Bognor came out fired up for the second half. Good inter-passing and support play saw them score a good back-row try under the posts.

At 22-7 Bognor sensed they might get back in it but Chichester re-grouped and camped out in the Bognor half again. With Chesney and Aylmore on, the forwards took it on once more, punching holes up the blindside before releasing flying wing Rahaman for a well-deserved score.

The final Chichester try went to man of the match Furness who, exploding off the back of the scrum, was simply unstoppable.

Chichester under-15B have won four and drawn one of their five games this season and sit in pole position to retain the title. They have not lost a league match for more than two seasons and are reaping the benefits of all their hard work in training.
