The coaches told the players just to go out and enjoy the rugby on offer.

Against hosts Bognor, Bognor scored early but great hands and a break saw an equalising score. The Crusaders started to believe in themselves and another try sealed a 14-5 win.

Against Deepings, Crusaders went two tries down but hit back for a really gutsy win of 15-12.

Wansted were up next and a remarkable scoreline followed – 47-0.

The final game saw the trophy on the line, with Evesham the opponents.

Crusaders had a two-try lead into half-time and ended up with another 19-5 win to make them champions – amazing for a team who had never played together before, including players for whom this was their first taste of competitive rugby.
