Heath U12s win Lewes Festival

With near perfect playing conditions Heath U12s sealed the Lewes Festival tournament trophy with some intense running rugby that enabled the squad of 22 players to outscore their closest rivals with a near two to one try ratio.

The most pleasing aspect of the day was how players easily fitted into the team, even with some wholesale changes the team still kept its shape and intensity to see the match through to a successful conclusion. The large crowd of supporters witnessed some great tries backed by some great decision making and support play. It was good to see all Heath players happy to play in any number of different positions and, with encouragement, employ different tactics on the pitch. A great end of season result showing how all the hard work during the year was worthwhile.

Haywards Heath Rugby Club welcomes new players of all ages – with its active mini rugby set up at all ages Under 6s through to Under 12s - and would like to hear from anyone who wants to join – in particular the Under 13 set up next season as this is when the full 15-a-side format comes into play.
