ROCKS REVIEW: Striker to miss Chipstead visit

Luke Nightingale will sit out the Rocks' visit to Chipstead after picking up a couple of knocks in recent games.

The in-form striker, scorer of 14 league goals despite starting only 16 games so far this term, has a slight hamstring strain and soreness above the knee after Saturday’s win over Met Police.

It’s likely that Kane Wills or fit-again James Fraser will play just behind Jason Prior in a different system.

Joint manager Jamie Howell admitted there were one or two other players who could do with a rest but said the Rocks didn’t want to make major changes.

It’s another tricky midweek test for the third-placed Rocks a week after they slipped to a 4-0 defeat at Faversham.

They overcame that loss by beating Met Police and will go top with a win at Chipstead, who are tucked into mid-table with nine wins and seven draws from 25 games.

Howell said: “It’s another game where we know we will have to work hard for any reward. It’s been a tiring schedule but we’re coping well and everyone was delighted with Saturday’s win.”

We’ll have a Chipstead v Rocks report here soon after the whistle on Tuesday night.
