Bognor entertained Crawley on a sunny Mother’s Day at Hampshire Avenue and after an excellent performance against Eastbourne the previous week, they started with a bang.

Liam Riley carried strongly to set up a ruck. Scrum-half Alfie Spurle fed Scott Darling who crashed over. Owen Henton converted.

The Bognor lineout worked well with Nathan Thompson winning good ball. The ball was moved wide by Arthur Wright to Jack Robinson on the wing. Benji Bishop made ground before the Misho Atanasov stormed over to score.

Lewis Decarteret showed he was back to full fitness by running the ball from full-back in the Bognor 22 through a maze of players before outpacing the cover and scoring under the posts for a fantastic solo try. Henton again converted.

George Orchard showed a huge fend and great pace to score. Darling scored the last try of the half after a turnover from flankers Ben Barker and Harry Mason and a fantastic support line. Bradley Corbould converted.

Henton began the second half taking a fine pass from Stanley Clarke, running round the full-back and scoring. Crawley came back strongly to score before a flowing backs move saw Corbould break through and feed his co-centre who grabbed his second. Clarke converted.
