He was interviewed about his career and the advice he would give to Seaford students who aspire to play professionally and for their country. Brooke discussed what it was like to play for your country and his respect for former England player Richard Hill.

A former New Zealand captain, he is widely seen as one of the finest No8s to have worn an All Blacks jersey. His decade-long international career included 17 Test tries, a world record for a forward at the time, and Will Carling once ranked him as the ninth greatest player in the history of the sport.

He is probably most famous for the extraordinary 48.5m drop goal he scored against England in Cape Town during the 1995 Rugby World Cup.

The video, above, features Seaford headmaster John Green who played rugby for England U16s, U19s and U23s and captained England students for three years.

He played professionally for the Saracens from 1992 to 1997. He coaches the rugby teams at Seaford College and is often seen in his suit and wellies being tackled by one of the players.

The sports dinner was held to raise funds for Seaford’s 2017 rugby and netball tour of Australia and New Zealand.
