Wilson's sevens success gives Chichester an international trio

Callum Wilson's selection for the first England sevens squad in IRB New Zealand tournament makes it three international call-ups for former Chichester RFC youngsters inside a fortnight.

Wilson was selected earlier this season for the sevens set-up and worked incredibly hard to burst through into the full England squad.

The 23-year-old gained his first cap early last Friday and played a key role in the squad as they took on Wale, Portugal and South Africa.

He is a former Oaklands Park team-mate of Charlie Matthews and Kieran Low - recently called up by England Saxons and the full Scotland squad respectively, making it an unprecedented year group for international success for Chichester and Sussex rugby.

Chichester RFC presdient Gareth Webb said: “Callum is another product of the Chichester system rising from minis to seniors.

“We are all incredibly proud of his achievements as a top athlete on the field, and an excellent ambassador for our club and city off it. The same goes for all three internationals - great examples of everything that is good about our game of rugby and young people.”
