The final award has been broken down into three categories - there are bronze awards for sportspeople who have represented their district, silver for those who have competed for their county or region and gold for young sportsmen and women who has represented their country.

From all those nominated who are eligible for a gold award, a judging panel will draw up a shortlist which will appear in the Observer and readers will have a chance to vote for the overall Youth Sport Achievement award winner.

Nominations for all categories close on Friday, April 25.

The awards are organised by the council in partnership with the Chichester Observer and Chichester Priory Rotary Club.

Awards and certificates will be presented at a ceremony at Westgate Leisure, Chichester, on Saturday, June 21.
